Saturday Meal Site. There is a free hot lunch served in Epworth Hall every Saturday at noon. The meal site serves between 60-90 people a week. We are on pace to serve over 3,000 people in 2017. In addition to the hot meal, guests are invited to bring home additional food items that are donated by a local Hy-Vee grocery store.
Teams of volunteers prepare and serve the meals from the commercial-grade kitchen connected to Epworth Hall. There is also a well-stocked food pantry and several full deep freezes. A team of volunteers usually consists of 4-5 people.
If you are interested in getting a team together to prepare and serve a meal, please call 309-788-9384 to schedule a time. A member of the team can come to another Saturday meal to see how the operation works, and more experienced teams can help you through the process.
Operation Safety Net. On the last Saturday of every month, the doors of Epworth Hall are opened at 11 a.m. people. Personal hygiene, laundry supplies, clothes, and other household needs are distributed on these days.
