As we mark the completion of her ministry at Two Rivers, it is a time to look back and a time to look forward; a time for joy, and a time for sadness. We give thanks and praise to God for what Judith has given us in our lives together.
Judith served as Organist from September 1, 1981, until her retirement on March 31, 2019. During her tenure, she added duties of Handbell Choir Director. She was the impetus behind our popular Lenten Concert Series. We have been blessed by her soaring classics on the organ, gospel and syncopated jazz numbers on the piano, and accompaniment for choirs and vocal and instrumental soloists and ensembles. In addition to performing church duties, she was active in the community through the American Guild of Organists, judging keyboard competitions, and teaching piano and organ.
Judith holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Education with Piano and Organ Emphasis from the University of Michigan, a Master of Arts degree from Michigan State University, and accomplished post graduate work at New York’s Columbia University, Detroit’s Wayne State University, Western Illinois University, and the University of Kansas.
We are so very grateful for Judith’s service, her influence on our faith, and her friendship which will not end with her retirement.
Don’t miss this very special recognition of our very special Judith Litherland
