Every Sunday in June Two Rivers Church will be digging deeper into prayer. By taking a closer look at the Psalms, Pastor Robb will show ways to pray. Each week will focus on a different type of prayer:

    May 31: Praise

    June 7: Thanksgiving

June 14: Intercession (asking God to act in the lift of another)

June 21: Supplication (asking God to act in my own life)

June 28: Lamentation (God’s complaint box)

The Psalms provide us with 150 different prayers. Each a different poem containing every human emotion. Over the course of June, we will look at one Psalm a week. We will find something beautiful and new in the poetry of the Psalms and in the prayers of the heart. The series promises to enrich both our worship life and prayer life as we move closer to God.

  • Holy Week

    Holy Week

Holy Week at Two RiversEaster Sunday is April 5. It is the holiest day of the Christian year, and a day of great rejoicing. The best way to experience the power and joy of Easter though, is to experience the rest of Holy Week.

Palm Sunday – 4:00 p.m. Two Rivers Church and The Center For Living Arts present Godspell. A 4:00 p.m. presentation of the energetic musical will be a great way to begin the Holy Week eperience.

Maundy Thursday – 6:30 p.m. The worship service will be the telling of the story of Jesus’ last days. It is a responsive reading, beautiful in its simplicity. Similar to a Christmas service of lessons and carols, this Maundy Thursday service combines readings and solemn hymns. The service includes Communion and the stripping of the altar.

Good Friday – 3:00-6:00 p.m. The church will be open for people to do a self-guided reflection. There will be stations throughout the church for people to do reading, prayer, and reflect on the crucifixion.

    Easter Sunday.

6:30 Sunrise Service meets in the south parking lot, with a spectacular view of the rising sun.

7:15-8:30 Pancakes and Sausage will be served by the United Methodist Men.

8:30 Easter Egg Hunt for the kids in the sanctuary

9:30 Worship the risen Christ with beautiful traditional service. Trumpets and organ will welcome the empty tomb. New members will be welcomed into the Two Rivers family, and all will be invited to Christ’s Table of Grace.

    #tryLENT photo journal

TRYLent revisedThis Lent, the people of Two Rivers United Methodist Church are encouraged to participate in a new discipline. Starting on Ash Wednesday, people are encourage to participate in this photo journal. There is a theme for each week from Wednesday to Wednesday. Over the course of the week, people can take pictures and post them on Facebook, Instragram, Pinterest, or Twitter. All pictures posted should include the hashtag #TRYLent.

Each weekly theme coincides with the sermon that will be given at Two Rivers on the Sunday of the week. This way, pictures that are posted before Sunday can be shared at worship. Then, after the worship experience, people can continue to ponder the theme for the week for a few days before moving on. Each major theme is a song from the musical Godspell. Under the main theme are several smaller ideas that you can capture over the course of the week.

Each Sunday in Lent Pastor Robb will be talking about a song, theme, or story from the musical Godspell. Two Rivers and The Center for Living Arts are working all through Lent on producing the musical on Palm Sunday at 4 p.m.
