    Birdies for Camp Milan

    By using Birdie #2399 – Two Rivers UMC Camp Milan Retreat Center you can direct your pledge to Camp Milan. If you have ever been a guest at Camp Milan, so you know what a special place it is.     Pledges received in the Birdies for Charity office before June 16 will be entered into a grand prize drawing. You can win a new Lexus! All pledges must be received by July 7.

    After all the pledges are made, Birdies for Charity will then send us a check with all of the gifts with at least 5% added. So your $100 gift to Birdies will come to Camp Milan as $105.     Straw poll regarding LGBTQ+inclusion

    After months of conversations, presentations, prayer, and writing workshops, the series of Reconciling Conversations have culminated in three proposals: to approve the Reconciling Ministries Network welcome statement, to join the Reconciling Ministries Network, and to approve the unique Two Rivers Church Welcome Statement.

    Before an official decision is made, a straw poll has been created to gauge the thoughts of the congregation. The straw poll has been concluded. The results were nearly overwhelmingly positive in wanting to approve the welcome statements and join RMN.

    Are we leaving the United Methodist Church?

    In a word, no. Drafting and approving a statement of welcome is not an act of disaffiliation. Defiance, perhaps, but we will remain a part of the Illinois Great Rivers Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. At this time, no one has proposed that Two Rivers Church should disaffiliate from the UMC. There are churches in our conference that are leaving the UMC. Most are leaving because they feel that the UMC is too tolerant of LGBTQ+ inclusion.

  • National Poetry Month Workshop and Showcase

    National Poetry Month Workshop and Showcase

    In recognition of National Poetry Month, the Young Lions Roar will hold a Poetry Summit on April 15 from 12:00-6:00 at Two Rivers United Methodist Church. The summit will culminate in a Showcase at 7:00 p.m. that is open to the public, featuring students and professional poets of the Young Lions Roar program.

    Please join us as we begin the Lenten season with a service for Ash Wednesday on February 22 at 7:00 p.m. at the Church of Peace, United Church of Christ. Interim Pastor Jane Courtright and Pastor Robb McCoy will share the leadership of the service, with Robb preaching.

  • Christmas At Two Rivers

    Christmas At Two Rivers

    Wed. Dec. 21 6:30 p.m. Blue Christmas Service. This service is on the longest night of the year, and makes room for grief in the midst of Christmas preparations.

    Sat. Dec. 24 4:00 p.m. Christmas Eve Service

    Sun. Dec. 25 9:30 a.m. Christmas service. We will meet in the back of the sanctuary, seated around the round tables in a more intimate, interactive and “Family Style” Communion.

    Sun. Jan. 1 9:30 a.m. Epiphany Sunday. We will give out “Star Words” that will provide a theme for guidance and reflection for the coming year.
